Unfair Business

And, The Winner Is ...

All is fair in love and war, they say. Everything is fair in business too, it appears. The way the business is sought to be expanded in this dog-eat-dog world of competition makes one wonder if the means adopted as a consequence are justified at all. We are all aware of the fall of many a big name in the global corporate world. Nearer home, we saw how Satyam fell low, thanks to the shenanigans of its founder. All these have brought the governance issue upfront yet again. The problem, I guess, lies in the degradation of value system. Ethics, morals, values et al have become scarce qualities in individuals. The society naturally reflects their absence in individuals. Not surprisingly, this is showing up in coporate world, too. We see a loss of trust. This has already set off a host of not-so-fair practices in the business world. The name of the new game is smartness. Certainly not fairness, it appears.

God Forgive

Guarding The God

How can one ever think of doing this? And, that too to God. Whenever I get a call from this Swami, I always felt a sense of reassurance. Since he calls me from Sholingur, the abode of Lord Narasimha, I feel as though the God HIMSELF is communicating a message to me. Well, this morning the Swami called me to tell a bad news. He informed me that robbers had broken into the Varadarajar Temple near the Tank (called Takkan Kulam). As he spoke to me, I could sense the sadness in his voice. I, too, felt very bad. Even Gods are not safe in this world! The Swami told me that he had arranged through a security agency to post a night guard in the temple. Where else do you find security guards for Gods! Well, times have indeed changed. O Lord! Forgive Us. You Need Protection.
